JENN THOMPSON · LICSW

I’m an engaged, curious, and collaborative therapist.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation with someone who is paying close attention.

I’ll ask questions, notice patterns, offer observations, and sometimes challenge you. I’ll also tell you when something I’m suggesting doesn’t seem to fit.

“Therapy with me is collaborative. I bring my training and experience; you bring an expertise that I can never have — the experience of being you.”

MY ROLE

I’m here to help you understand yourself, not to tell you who you should become.

PERSPECTIVE

Clarity and Choice

My job is to help you understand yourself more clearly, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and find ways of responding that give you more choice.

REGULATION

Support and Pacing

We work at a pace that respects your nervous system. Growth doesn’t require overwhelming yourself or pushing past your limits.

AUTHENTICITY

Warmth and Humor

There may be tears. There may also be laughter, sarcasm, awkward moments, and times when we both recognize that something is simply ridiculous. You don’t need to perform therapy correctly. You don’t need the perfect words, profound insights, or an ability to explain exactly why you feel the way you do.

Warmth & Real Connection

A warm, grounded space

Therapy works best when you are met with warmth, unhurried pacing, and a space where you can feel at ease being yourself.
